Durga Saptasat popularly known as candi is a beautiful scripture
containing a spiritual treasure. It consist of 700 mantras ( verses) and is
contained in the Mãrkandeya Purãna, one of the 18 great puranas written by
Sri Vedavyãsa.

The total of 13 chapters are divided into 3 sections- first section
consisting of chapters 5-13. Each section deals with the 3 aspects of the
Divine Mother - maha Kali, Maha Laksmi and maha Sarasvati representing the
three gunas tamas, rajas and sattva, activity, prosperity and wisdown
respectively.

composta de capítulos 5-13. Cada seção trata dos três aspectos da Mãe
Divina - maha Kali, Maha Laksmi e Sarasvati maha representando as três

The victoryof The Mother over various asuras is described in detail
and the scripture is replete with many hidden methaphorical truths.
Traditionally the Candi is recited in the worship of the Divine Mother
especially during the Devi Navaratra festival, nine days dedicated to
the Mother during autumn and spring. It is customary to recite the
devikavaca and argalastotra.
A vitória da Mãe sobre os mais diversos asuras é descrito
em detalhes e a Escritura está repleta de muitas verdades escondidas
metafóricas. Tradicionalmente, o Candi é recitado no culto da Mãe Divina,
especialmente durante o festival Navaratra Devi, nove dias dedicados à Mãe
durante o outono e primavera. É costume de recitar o devikavaca e
argalastotra.

The Candi begins with the story of a king named Suratha and vaisya ( a
business man) named Samãdhi. Enemies drove Suratha out his kingdom. The wife
and children of Samadhi took away his property and deserted him. Wandering
in a forest they both reached the hermitage of a rsi ( sage) whose
name is Medhã. On hearing their stories the rsi advises both of them
to worship Durgã to be free from their troubles, and relates to them the
glory of Durgã and the way to worship her.
A Candi começa com a história de um rei chamado Suratha e vaisya (um homem de
negócios) chamado Samadhi. Inimigos levaram Suratha para fora do
seu seu reino. A esposa e os filhos de Samadhi tiraram dele a sua
propriedade e o abandonaram. Vagando em uma floresta ambos
atingiram o eremitério de um rsi (sábio), cujo nome é Medha. Ao ouvir
suas histórias o rsi informa que ambos devem adorar Durga
assim ficariam livres dos seus problemas, e relata a eles
a glória de Durga e a forma de adorá-la.

Describes her victory over Mahisãsura, raktavija, Sumbha and Nisumbha
whom she killed in the battle . Both the king and visya worship the Divine
Mother and achieve their goal.
Ela descreve sua vitória sobre Mahisasura, Raktavija, Sumbha e Nisumbha
a quem ela matou na batalha. Tanto o rei como visya adoraram a Mãe
Divina e alcançaram seus objetivos.

Meu amado Guruji ensina que vencer os nossos inimigos e o mal dentro de
nós é a maior vitória. A Mãe Divina é a nossa existência perecível ,
neste mundo , nós temos a alma imperecível dentro de nós. Mas nós não
nos lembramos dela , e também não aprendemos a divinizar nossos centros ou
chakras , então ficamos no meio da batalha desolados no circulo vicioso que
nos aniquila.
My beloved Guruji teaches that: beat our enemies and evil within us is the
greatest victory. The Divine Mother is our mortal existence in this world, we
have the imperishable soul within us.But we do not remember it, and also learn
not to deify our centers or chakras, then we are in desolate in the midst of
battle vicious cycle that annihilates us.

Quando aprendemos a meditar e praticar Kriya Yoga com sinceridade , com a
ajuda do nosso guru preceptor , aprendemos a conhecer , amar e
cultuar a Mãe Divina dentro de nós . Aí ela nos ajuda a matar o mal dentro
de nós . Se matamos o mal dentro de nós , somos purificados . Assim como o
rei Suratha e o comerciante Samadhi , conseguiram chegar nos seus
objetivos, nós chegaremos no máximo da evolução espiritual possível
nesta ou nas próximas vidas.
When we learn to meditate and practice Kriya Yoga with sincerity, with the
help of our guru tutor, rsi learn to know, love and worship the Divine Mother
within us. Then she helps us to kill the evil within us. If we kill the evil
within us, we are cleansed. As the king Suratha and
the business man Samadhi , they arrived in their objectives,
we will reach a maximum of spiritual evolution possible in this life or the
next.
